SUMMER STORYTELLING
MOTH INSPIRED WORKSHOP FOR TEENS
-
WHY?
Mental health challenges among youth are rising. The Centers for Disease Controlreported in 2024 that the mental health of high school students has largely worsened in the past decade, and a 2022 New York Times articlenoted the marked increase in depression, self-harm, and suicide among American adolescents. In addition, the ongoing impact of isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic continues to affect mental health and learning outcomes for young people in our nation.

WHAT?
The Inside Out Project: Narratives for Change
A summer storytelling and mental wellness workshop designed for local youth. This creative, healing-focused initiative invites high school students to explore their emotions, build resilience, and express their unique voices through personal storytelling, art, performance, and digital filmmaking. Participants will also be provided with resources and practice with a variety of scenarios to mentor peers who may have mental health needs.
